About Me

Hello! My name is Brittni Darrington. I was born and raised in Idaho. I married my high school sweetheart, Brogan. We both graduated from Utah State University then moved back home to begin our careers. Brogan is a potato farmer, and I am a high school social studies teacher. I currently teach Psychology, Economics, and U.S. History. This is my third year as a teacher, and I enjoy every minute. Brogan and I have a one year old son, Korver. His name came from Kyle Korver, and NBA player who used to play for the Utah Jazz. Korver just recently learned how to walk, so he is into everything and keeping us very busy. We love to chase him around and make him giggle. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing volleyball, digital scrapbooking, watching Survivor or sports with my husband, and playing the piano.

It is common to see students with a smart phone or tablet in hand. Technology is an essential part of life, and I feel it is important to have an understanding of the tools students are using in order to relate to them and to engage them in learning. In the future, I hope to find new ways to bring technology into my classroom. I see myself helping introduce other teachers to technology integration in their own classrooms. While I truly enjoy teaching in the traditional classroom, my ultimate goal is to be able to teach online in virtual classrooms. Family is the most important part of my life, and my dream is to be able to work from home and be able to spend time with my children. I have always wanted to get my Master’s degree, but I never knew what I wanted to get it in. I was looking through some of Boise State’s online courses for professional development when I stumbled upon the MET program. As I read and learned more about the program, I became really excited. I immediately went home, talked to my husband, and started applying. I feel that this program perfectly aligns with my interest and goals, and I am excited to be a part of it.
